Alvin Jacob Lawson, Sr., age 85, of Corryton passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was a US Navy Veteran, worked as a maintenance electrician with the I.B.E.W. Carrier Corp. and Anheuser-Busch in Jacksonville, FL. He loved to farm and take care of his cattle. Preceded in death by parents, Hazel Snodgrass Lawson and W.D. Lawson; sister, June Bates; niece, Jeanne Turner. Survived by son, Alvin J. (Mary) Lawson, Jr.; daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Hobby; grandchildren, Chris (Tami) Lawson, Kevin Lawson, Jesse Lewis, Aleka Hobby and Ezrah Hobby; great-grandchildren, Elisha, Kaelynn, Liam, Sophia, Eliza, Brendan, Sloane, Ashton, Jaceylynn, Ruthie, Liam, Peyton and Braylon. Special thanks to his caregivers, Cheyanne Mendez and Johnny Staley. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 10:00 AM Committal Service.
