Alvin Carson Hickman, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 22, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1945. Alvin was a man of strong Baptist faith and proudly served in the United States Airborne Army. He later retired from KUB after almost 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Cederberry and Pauline Hickman; and his siblings, Hubert, Edith, Gladys, Stanley, Barbara, and Brenda.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Patty” Hickman; his children, Chris Hickman and Mark Hickman (Ginnie); his brother, Herman Hickman; and his cherished grandchildren, Kayla Henson, Kendall Hickman, and Dalton Carr. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews, and many countless friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Alfreda, Debbie, Breanne, Cory, April, John, Randy, Laurie, and Chuck for all of their help and support in every way. A special acknowledgment is also given to his beloved pets, Gypsy and Roxy.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM service officiated by Mark Kitts at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 PM at East TN State Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Hwy) on Thursday, June 4, 2026, for a 12:30 PM inurnment.
