Alma Cupp McCloud

July 12, 1938 — September 18, 2025

Alma Cupp McCloud age 87, of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was a graduate of Halls High School class of 1956. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She served the Halls and Gibbs community as the Vice President Loan Officer at Home Federal Bank. She taught herself at an early age to play the piano and discovered her love for music. Alma also enjoyed playing games, camping, traveling and spending time with family, especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Angela Dawn, parents, John and Hazel Ellis Cupp, in-laws, Sam and Gertrude McCloud, brothers-in-law; Wayne McCloud and Millard Young; and sister-in-law, Jerry McCloud.

Alma is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Kyle McCloud, daughters: Kathy (Eddie) Bright and Debbie (Woodall) McCloud; grandchildren: Charles Woodall, Andy (Becky) Bright, Allison (James) Fryer, and Samantha (Tyler) Rutherford; great-grandchildren: Ava, Elijah, Alyssa and Ian; special cousins: Eddie (Lee) Monroe and Larry (Janice) Holbert; several other cousins, many nieces and nephews, special friends: LaVetta Hanlein, Betty Longmire, Norma Thompson and Carolyn Weaver; along with her classmates of 1956.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sacred Ground Hospice, Smoky Mountain Hospice and caregiver, Mary Lou Cameron for all their great care. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Alma’s honor to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate or Norris Animal Shelter.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 pm Monday, September 22, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel and travel in procession to Fort Sumter Cemetery for a graveside service officiated by Pastor Allen James.
