Alfredo "Fred" Barba Alcaraz

Alfredo (Fred) Barba, age 56, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Harlingen, Texas, left this world on December 30, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Fred lived life to the fullest, embracing each day with enthusiasm and energy. He was well organized and orderly. Fred had a passion for working out. He enjoyed taking care of his dog Loki, and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Rosalina Barba.

 He is survived by his cherished children, Bethany (Charles) Barba, Desteny (Tony) Barba, Martin (Kristen) Carrizales, and Brayan Carrizales. He took immense joy in his grandchildren: Aiyden, Reina, A'marah, Charles Jr., Rico, Harley, Avery, and Evy. Additionally, Fred leaves behind his sister, Blanca (Joe Nunez), and brothers, Juan (Martha) Barba, Jesse (Lisa) Barba, and Alex (Connie) Barba. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Estella Nunez Laughter, Joe Nunez Jr., Micah Barba, Cassandra Barba, Ashleigh Barba, Alex Barba Jr., Tiffany Barba, Samantha Alexie Barba, Leo Barba, Armando Barba, Juan Barba Jr., Marisa Barba, and Martha Bonilla. 

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church, located at 1700 W. Beaver Creek, Powell, TN 37849, followed by a service. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home (Fountain City), located at 2829 Rennoc Rd., Knoxville, TN, at 12:30 PM for a procession to Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918, for a 1 PM graveside service. In lieu of flowers you can donate for funeral expenses to Mynatt Funeral Home in honor of Alfredo (Fred) Barba.
